The Alliance for Library Impact is where library-support organizations come together to stay on top of trends, discuss challenges, celebrate successes, widen professional networks, and plan for the future.
Stellar libraries everywhere.
We bring library-support organizations together to discover the people and resources they need to best serve their member libraries.
When working with library systems and consortia across the country, library consultants Amanda Standerfer of Fast Forward Libraries and Cindy Fesemyer of Fesemyer Consulting heard over and over how isolated some library-support organizations felt, especially in the middle of a global pandemic. The Alliance for Library Impact was born - with a mission to connect library-support organizations to innovate together. Through peer-to-peer resource sharing, professional development, strategic planning, leadership support, support for member libraries, and more, library-support organizations can do more together and have greater impact locally and nationally within the library sector.
Amanda’s passion is helping libraries and nonprofit organizations advance so they can create meaningful impact in their communities. Since 2002, Amanda's consulting practice Fast Forward Libraries has worked with libraries and nonprofits on strategic planning, fundraising, organizational development, and capacity building. Amanda has 15 years of experience at various positions in public libraries, most recently as the Director of Community Engagement for The Urbana (IL) Free Library. She also has 7 years of experience working in the philanthropy sector. She has a BA and MA in History from Eastern Illinois University and a MLIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Helping information organizations see the big picture as they strive for equity and social justice is Cindy Fesemyer's passion as the Principal of Fesemyer Consulting, LLC. Community engagement, qualitative assessment, strategic planning, engaged leadership, staff training, and keynoting are her areas of expertise. She is employed at the WI State Library as their first Adult and Community Services Consultant. Previously she served seven years as Director of the Columbus Public Library (WI), named a finalist for Library Journal's 2017 Best Small Library in America. She sits on the board of the Public Library Association and is a Trustee for the Madison Public Library.
Librarianship is Cindy's second career. After 14 years managing non-profits, she earned her MLIS from UW-Madison in 2012.
The Alliance for Library Impact brings together people from library-support organizations to build capacity through collaboration and learning opportunities while also providing new ways to support member libraries directly to create impact in the communities they serve.
